Also showed that Farrell could well have popped that kick over last week. His conversion at the end from exactly the same position.

I think England blew it last week when they were well in control with 20 to go.

I'm genuinely shocked though. England out the WC in the group stages having lost twice at Twickenham. Wouldn't have expected that to happen.
Folley may have scored the tries but Pocock was outstanding.

Turning it over so many times and so quick around the breakdown.

Aussies were superb England were ****e

        This looks a little humiliating.

Life is much better when it's not ruled by sport.

        £150 a ticket too.
Dom, this only applies to losers. People that support winning teams have lovely joy filled lives, enriched by sport.

One day, you'll we'll know that feeling again. (maybe)

Yeah - a lot of immense performances.

The physicality and energy levels of Pocock and Hooper and ability at the breakdown were incredible. The Aussie scrum pretty much dominated throughout.

Foley kicked 6 times from pretty much every position on the pitch and scored 2 tries

I doubt it. For me, anyway. Money and soulless corporate greed rules. It's beaten me.
            Oh I don't know.

One huge difference between football and rugby us the respect to the referees.

They Farrell called him sir before he got sent packing. And went off without a backwards glance despite it pretty much meaning the end of the road for England.

I thought it was a yellow tbh, and Burgess was lucky not to follow him.

That's sad Dom, and tbh i don't think the general public/average sports fan lets sport ruin their lives tbh, they experience the good or bad in an event, then let it go.

It's just us Liverpool fans who let it ruin our lives.

I dunno mate. There's millions of moping rugby fans in this country right now. And tens of thousands of chastised Chelsea fans, complaining about the cunt in charge of their club. And a brace of Bristol City supporters wondering what the point of it all is.

It's the way. It's too important. What is life itself without this meaning?
                    Oh I don't know.

And yet you still comment on it. Beaten you yes but still holds enough sway for you to give an opinion

                        Well no.

I've not watched any of the world cup. I've been out all day, got in and watched the last five minutes of tonight's game because I was mildly interested.

Not interested enough to make a detour from my day and watch it from the beginning, but interested enough to see what the result was from a topical perspective.

It was also interesting enough for me to feel compelled to comment on it to someone who is not my wife (I've been with her all day, she's lovely but doesn't like sport much), so the appropriate thread on my favourite website was my first and only port of call. And that's what I did.

And my opinion on the commercial realities of modern day sport are I think valid, particularly within the context of my original post.

I hope that clarifies my position for you.

I think you've just proved my point tbh.

You talk about not caring enough to watch things and the commercial side of things ruin it for you and yet you still make comments on it and offer an opinion.

It seems these trivial things still hold some meaning to you however much you profess to them not.

I think you've misunderstood my point.

I've watched 5 minutes of the whole world cup. I then made one post which then got answered to, so I replied to that post. It's a forum, right? I'm doing it right now in this conversation.

It shouldn't be that hard for a man of your calibre to understand.

                              Ok.

                              A topical tweet.

                              Sporting Intelligence:
For sale: about 25,000 tickets for England v Uruguay next Saturday. Face value: £250.

I may not worry about the result of the rugby, but this price tag for a seat in a stadium is actually something I feel strongly about.

I challenge anyone to justify the greed behind this.
                              Oh I don't know.

Tickets to top music gigs can cost in the hundreds and more tbf.

It's not just in sport where greed exists, if there's demand then the price will be higher, for lesser known bands not so much, it's all about what you want to watch really, what level floats your boat, lots of cheap sport out there to watch.
