Australia were excellent. Smart back play, excellent in the loose and strong in the set piece. England were better in the second half and, at 13-20 and ten minutes left, I thought they were going to get back in the game.

Happy that Wales have qualified but I'm genuinely disappointed for the England team and their fans. England are clearly one of the best teams in the World and should be competing in the quarter/semi final stages.
    Another MASSIVE game

And I don't go to those either.

      Stadium live music.

I've never been to a good stadium or arena gig. And I will never attend another one.

For the thousands who do. Lovely. Enjoy yourselves.
      Oh I don't know.

That's sort of my point, you can take the same approach with sport, avoid the rip off's, go and watch a local team play.

All i'm saying is that if you ever had an interest in competitve sport, you don't have to totally abandon that just because you want to avoid the big stage managed events that hike the price up, the train prices and flights up etc etc.

Go and watch **** players giving it their all, for no other reason than they love to play.

edit: and no! my comment about going to watch **** players playing, isn't an open goal for people to have a dig at LFC!

          I do agree with that.

But we have all grown up with the LFC that enchanted us. It was reasonably priced by today's standards, particularly if you were an armchair fan. The legends were real and tangible. Now they are part of the corporate spiel. It's soulless and it wants our cash in return for, well, whatever.

It costs twenty quid to watch Bath City now. And that really is ****.

It's becoming time to take the decision to let go.
          Oh I don't know.

Isn't this tournie supposed to be, based on average ticket price, the most expensive sporting tounement ever?

Would have been great for the tournament if England had of stayed in, but they've had a mare. Australia were outstanding.

Lancasters PC on just now. He seems like a thoroughly decent bloke.

The press are wanting to eat him alive obviously - asking the same question over and over again.

I don't get this notion that the England coach has to be English, why would you appoint a coach on the basis of his nationality knowing full well a better one exists that could be appointed ? If it were law and the same for every other country fair enough, but it's not.

I couldn't, it would bug the hell out of me, 'oh sorry Mr Guardiola we don't want you as England manager cos you're Spanish, Tim Sherwood is English so he gets the nod!'

If you are going to have a team based on the country the player is from, then the same should apply to the manager. It's supposed to represent the country, the best and worst we can put forward. You don't just pick and choose. Rugby is a mockery anyway, half the teams are made up of Pacific island recruits.

I agree that it should be, but it isn't in the rules of the game, if your opponents don't do it, why start of at a disadvantage.

All people remember is the winning and losing.

NRL Grand Final is excellent. Nth Qld have missed several good opportunities to come back but Qld Broncos' defence is excellent.

                            That's a fair point mate.

I hate how rugby Union scrums are like those in league ie pointless. The ball never goes in straight. As for kicking, how easy is it? The ball is about a foot off the turf these days. Another sport like football & formula one that has reached it's peak and is on the way down. Tennis is the only sport I think is getting better.

The scrum wasn't pointless last night that's for sure. Australia crushed England in the scrum. It's a bit rich to hear about the pointlessness of the scrum, a traditional area of English dominance, the morning after their scrum was taken to pieces.

I don't have any problem with kicking tees either. Rugby Union is in good shape (perhaps not if you are English) the rule changes have brought about a more open game than the bore fest that existed in the late 80's and early 90's.
