Massive win vs Australia this morning - our first series win against a (proper) Southern Hemisphere side away from home almost 40 years. We are winning tight games now which is a good habit.

Mad. Must have been given a ****ty prognosis with how his injuries might go post-retirement if he continued?Originally posted by Rigadon View PostSam Warburton: Wales and British & Irish Lions captain retires from rugby

Wow, that is a surprise. He seems an intelligent guy, onbviously weighing up the potential impact on his life in continuing a career in a brutal sport and has decided enough is enough. He has achieved a lot and bows out at the top, saw him being used as a BBC pundit so expect him to feature there as a 2 time Lions captain.Modifying post.

He’ll get released for the internationals, it’s just the managing of his game time in and around then that won’t be possible now he’s in France.Originally posted by Irishnev View Post@Buzzo - I see Finn Russell signed for Racing also and two tries last night - Zebo there also now so I’ll be keeping my eye on their highlights.
Good for Scotland him playing at that level, might be harder for him to be released for internationals though
I knew he’d signed for Racing, but didn’t realise he’d bagged a couple of tries!
The style of Rugby should suit him perfectly.
Can’t wait for the pro 14 - think it’s going to be a great season...!Modifying post.

With the central contracts we have in Ireland our key players have their game time managed and they never played club games during the 6 Nations. When Sexton went to Racing he played all their games inc the ones during the 6 Nations and was always released for the minimum amount of time.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostHe’ll get released for the internationals, it’s just the managing of his game time in and around then that won’t be possible now he’s in France.

Russell will get the same treatment so interesting to see how he manages the physical side of it.

Yeah, same for us with the guys at Edinburgh and Glasgow. I think it is a worry, with Finn though it is offset with the development he could have in his game and the experience from playing in France.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostWith the central contracts we have in Ireland our key players have their game time managed and they never played club games during the 6 Nations. It’s also a position we don’t have any international cover for really.
Greg Laidlaw is at Clermont so 2 key players now in France.Modifying post.

Saw results as opposed to games Buzzo, need to be selective of what I watch these days! I’ll go to a few Munster games no doubt but it hasn’t cranked up yet.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostHave you watched much PRO14 Necmv?
I seem to have Premier Sports, so have watched the two Edinburgh games (tlosing bonus point away defeats) and a bit of Glasgow beating Munster and Scarlets losing to Leinster last night.
It’s turning into a great competition.
I watched the ABs in the rugby championship though

Same re LFC - have IPTV so can watch literally anything but don’t want the grief of being seen to watch ALL the games. LFC and Irl rugby + a Classico or the like. Munster for derbies + Euro Cup.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostSame. Other than LFC games I don’t watch any footy.
But the Pro 14 games on a Friday night work out quite well for me.
Going to the Autumn International, but will try and get along to a few Edinburgh games this season also.
Add in golf majors, Ryder Cup + a few other bits and pieces I guess I do all right
