Funny talk about Alonso heading a consortium for the Lotus team - Mercedes power, his old (own) team...

He's never winning that 3rd title, is he?!

I did wonder if he might try and get into taking a team on at some point, would be madness imo.

I think he's outmanouved himself a little bit tbh and there are very few places for him to go now

What was the first Russian Gp like then? I'm assuming more Bahrain than a Spa. Another new waste of time or does it have promise for future years?

It was a procession, much like Valencia ends up. Bit snooze worthy to be honest.

            It was ****e.

Yeah I thought it might be like Valencia. What's the answer? These new tracks are here to stay because of the money involved. Fit the cars with turbo boosts rather than the ****e drs?

Don't know. Drivers spoke about only one overtaking spot on Friday which is never a good thing to hear. Then you had the tyres not degrading so there was hardly any stops to change them. After all the talk of tyres over the last few years yesterday was a reminder of exactly what can happen when drivers don't need to think about them. Artificial as it is, it injects some uncertainty to proceedings which is much needed when the cars are pretty bullet proof.

Yup the tyres just didn't have any deg at all yesterday which was really needed to turn it into something other than a procession, I mean Lewis literally just clocked up the laps without really having to do anything to keep the lead.

Rosberg was SO lucky that there was no deg. Another stop would have dropped him down a few places

Yup, you wonder if there will be a twist in this title race after that little turn of luck for him.

From a viewing point though on those tyres he was the only one that made the GP vaguely interesting

I feel sorry for **** pirrelli get over their tyres.

They were asked to produce tyres that wouldn't last and so spice up the race.

Yup they can't really win, its a shame refuelling was taken away again (probably rightly) as that offered an extra dynamic with the race strategies.

I do think in the Russian GP the tyre choice was wrong but the first time there and after the Bianchi crash it's no real surprise they were cautious

Just having a look at who powers who and after Alonso said it's likely to not be a Merc engine there is literally nobody else but McLaren he could realistically go to

                              Who's powering who in 2015?

Mercedes: Mercedes, Williams, Force India, Lotus.

Renault: Red Bull, Toro Rosso, Caterham.

                              Ferrari: Ferrari, Sauber, Marussia.

                              Honda: McLaren.
