Anything could happen. There haven't been many drivers or teams to complete race simulation without stopping, never mind having the PUs on full power for that distance, so it's a lottery.
Absolutely. It would also be great for a change to see anyone but the usual suspects on the top step!

Red Bull's ace up their sleeve was the exhaust diffuser which made an absolutely huge difference, but with that now gone then they could finish anywhere...or not finish at all.

5 minutes into the first practice session and Hamiltons car is the first to stop out on track with smoke coming out of it
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

Spoke to a mate of mine yesterday who NEVER talks about what he does. I knew he worked for Merc in the Engine division. But he was telling me yesterday he has been working on this new F1 engine for the last 2 years, and that he basically hasn't slept for the last 2 weeks. Feels like tomorrow is the same as letting a kid go off to school for the first time.

I lost interest in F1 a few years back, but Im going to give it a go this season to see if it has a bit of competition in it again.

I'm so envious. My dream job would be to work within an F1 team.

Very nice touch from the Torro Rosso guys congratulating Riccardo as he was making his way back to the garage at the end

I hope it rains again tomorrow, it will really be a very interesting start to the season either way

So was his. He is the only person I know who said they wanted to do something at age 10 and is now actually doing it. He works so hard. **** that

Good starts by Kev Mag, Ricciardo and Kyvat.

The sound of the engines are horrible, like a cat crying inside a tin can!

                      Engines sound wrong don't they.

I fancy Mag will have a good season

                        The engine's sound truly awful.

Neighbour of mine used to be in the Ferrari F1 team - was on the road with them for 4 years. Currently works at McLaren (non F1) and is a thoroughly nice bloke: got m'boy several days work experience in Woking. Needless to say...he came home buzzing every night!

I've been into F1 for 20 years or so but unless this season really turns me on again I reckon that's it for me. Somehow it doesn't seem half as exciting as it used to be. Turning it politically correct doesn't work - the cars should sound like monsters, not hoovers. They should always go faster, more everything, rather than less.

Heard today that Hamilton now has as many poles as Mansell - it just doesn't seem right. Mansell out of a car is/was about as exciting as carpet but get him behind the wheel and he became superhuman. Hamilton just comes across as a child who can drive a bit.

I see the new rule changes in F1 have done the trick, seasons opener and not one comment about the race!

Set my digital box to record it and it didn't the *******, it also missed the replay on the beeb which was on while the match was on so I can't comment!

It was pretty much the same story but with a different german running away with it

It was a relatively interesting race, though the middle section seemed to be processional with everyone just holding station and conserving fuel. Loved watching Bottas though, he was my driver of the day - what a pity he hit the wall and punctured his tyre, he might have challenged for a podium.

I said all along through pre season that there is no way Red Bull could be written off - sure enough, podium. Great to see Magnusson getting on the podium too though.

                                But yeah, Williams Bottas
