Crazy if true about Red Bull, they were twice told by the FIA not to run the fuel system they did as it was illegal, they disagreed with the rule makers and went ahead anyway.
Spoke to a mate of mine yesterday who NEVER talks about what he does. I knew he worked for Merc in the Engine division. But he was telling me yesterday he has been working on this new F1 engine for the last 2 years, and that he basically hasn't slept for the last 2 weeks. Feels like tomorrow is the same as letting a kid go off to school for the first time.
I lost interest in F1 a few years back, but Im going to give it a go this season to see if it has a bit of competition in it again.
I have a good mate who is an Engineer at Maclaren and he has been the same, 24/7 for the last few weeks, they have been sleeping at the factory and they are all feeling the pressure since Dennis came back on board. He is ****ing ruthless and a mare to work for.
Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.
He's supposed to be hard work as a boss in terms of he expects his pound of flesh but he's also supposed to be pretty decent as long as you're getting on with it and doing what's required.
Mate's old man worked for him for years and doesn't have a bad word to say against him.
This picture is brilliant. Sterling Moss at Monaco 1956.Things so different these days. He's in a T-shirt
That's mental haha. In those days there were no rules on safety, but there were 2 or 3 deaths a year, but the drivers knew that.
Even in karting I've got to have an FIA approved suit, boots, helmet, gloves...everything!
They've brought in some rules into karting which are beyond stupid now though, such as ducking behind the wheel (to decrease drag and increase straight line speed) gets you a hefty fine.
Good win for Lewis but overall I thought the race was a bit boring. I don't like how quite the engines are ether this season. Its taken something away from the sport if you ask me.
the number of years he pulled over for Alonso and Schumacher he deserves to be allowed to race, I know the team we're trying to get him to pull over but he did the right thing by ignoring them.
The Mercs today looked so dominant, drove well within their ability as well.
