The fact that they were both pushing each other let us see the real speed of the merc that they were trying to keep under wraps, and the difference between them and the rest is enormous!

Crazy isn't it, the speed they've got is so much more than everyone else on the grid.

Was a good race today though and nice to see a Force India on the podium

3 seconds a lap faster than the rest when they were going toe to toe, it's an eternity!

Was good to see the rest behind them are closely matched, will make for some great battles and unusual 3rd places

Crazy isn't it. Good to see the Mercs were allowed to race and they both really gave it a good go to win; nice to see Hamilton get it though

The chasing pack are all so close Force India, Williams, McLaren & Red Bull all look like they're capable of getting on the podium, Ferrari however look like they're going to struggle yet again and Alonso will have to be his brilliant best to get anything from the car.

Yeah same old story from Ferrari, wasting Alonso. Got to be a risk to Stefano's job. Was great that the mercs were allowed to go at it and a brilliant drive from Lewis on the slower tyres to hold Nico off.

After I wrote the season off the other day that was a great race to get the interest back!

Stefano Domenicali quits as boss of F1 team

Stefano Domenicali has resigned as the team principal of Ferrari with immediate effect.

The Italian team have struggled this season, failing to register a podium finish in the opening three races.

Domenicali, 48, who will be replaced by Marco Mattiacci, had been in charge since replacing Jean Todt in 2008.


"There are particular moments in all of our professional lives where you need the courage to take difficult and very painful decisions," said Domenicali.

"It's time to make an important change. As boss, I take the responsibility - as I always have - for the situation we are going through."

Ferrari have not won the world title since Kimi Raikkonen's success in 2007.

Domenicali, who had been with the Italian team for 23 years in various roles, added: "This decision has been taken with the aim of doing something to shake things up."

Fernando Alonso has claimed two fourth places and a ninth in his three races for Ferrari so far this season, while team-mate Raikkonen has come seventh, 12th and 10th.

Alonso revealed his concerns at Ferrari's lack of competitiveness following the last race in Bahrain, and the team's predicament was not helped when issues with their car meant that they had to abandon testing at the same track early.

"I thank Stefano Domenicali, not only for his constant dedication and effort, but also for the great sense of responsibility he has shown, even today, in always putting the interests of Ferrari above all else," said Ferrari president Luca Di Montezemolo.

Mattiacci, who is the current president of Ferrari North America, will take over for the next F1 race, which is the Chinese Grand Prix on 20 April.

I was a little shocked at the Stefano removal surely after last years championship finished would have made sense.

Interestingly I was chatting to a bloke that knows Dennis pretty well and he thinks there is no love lost between him and Whitmarsh which I was a little surprised at.

I thought that was well known! Dennis tried to remove Whitmarsh a few times in recent years before he finally managed it.

Some lap that - if he doesn't win the title this year, he might as well just give it up. He should be in his peak years now, he has the best car and has a team mate that will be taking points from the other top drivers / challengers. G'wan Lewis.

8 tenths quicker in a wet qualifying. Not all down to the car obviously since his teammate is 1.2 behind him. Great drive.

Hopefully we'll have an exciting race from 2 downwards
