And also, this flag waving **** is propagated by F1 - its always been done. The drivers supposedly race for their nations and tradition has dictated that there is a pathetic show of nationalism before and after every race. There's a national anthem in honour of the host race, national anthem for the manufacturer and one for the driver. Its the first time he's flown a flag since he won it last time in 2008, he doesn't wear a flag on his helmet either.

Did you get as annoyed by Coulthard, the Monaco resident, wearing the scottish saltire on his helmet every ****ing race he drove? I doubt it.

Buzzing for Lewis, great respect from Nico and Alonso too. It's be ****ing great if by some miracle Alonso had a car capable of challenging next season and him and Lewis could go hammer and tongs at it once again.

Be a shame if Button doesn't get a drive next season.

Nice... Did you look that up in the UK tax evasion wikipedia entry there?

Why don't you start a thread on it if it concerns you so much, you "****ing cunt faced cunt"? This is the F1 thread!

Like I said, the money he generates in the UK alone, away from his income, more than covers any amount the treasury might be missing out on.

This government has been known to advise on how to pay the least tax! I know a very senior ex Investment banker that was advised by HMRC on how to pay the least amount of tax on his soon to be cashed in shares in that company.

Lewis living out of this country is irrelevant tbh the nationalism is pushed on the drivers by F1 and its a long standing tradition as D7 said there are many other and more meaningful ways of generating more income mostly by closing tax loopholes and getting said multi billion pound companies over here to pay their tax.

Anyway this is an F1 thread

                Lewis deserved champion this season

I am absolutely convinced that the Honda engine and the new aero guy is going to result in McLaren being competitive next season. If Alonso is there, he'll drag them to race wins ahead of schedule...if he goes there

So am I mostly due to the lack of improvements the other engine manufacturers are allowed to make on this seasons version IF Honda get it right early doors they could surprise a few.

With regards Button I have a feeling the lack of contract is purely down to money Alonso and him would be a hefty old wage bill each season whereas Magnussen or the test driver will be relatively cheap.

I'd love to see Button keep his seat, but it would also be a shame to see a young driver bumped out for two of the "old guard" - but if they could find a way to accommodate all three, ie Magnusson to stay on as test driver (now Paffett has gone) and learn from two world champions as a test driver - that would be great.

Yup agree but I can't see it I think Button will be off tbh

It looks that way. Thought the doughnuts out there after the race was like a farewell to F1. Pity. But he's a despicable cunt anyway cos he lives in Monaco and all.

That was my feeling with the dog nuts, good servant to F1 and seems a thoroughly nice chap, never thought he was in the "elite" racers but right near the top

Yeah, I was having this conversation about him today - if he goes, he'll be leaving behind 15 drivers who have less ability than him. As far as arbitrarily ranking him on the grid, I'd say there's only really Lewis, Alonso and Vettel definitely ahead of him, with Rosberg and Raikkonen arguably behind him.

I never really appreciated how good he was until this season.

                                He has driven brilliantly.
