It was sort of understandable why Williams did what it did. However it was a cock up. They may not have won though. Williams looked strong though which is good. They are keeping the development pace.

Will be interesting to see if anyone follows the force India nose.

Whichever of the hulk or Bottas is at Ferrari I would like the other at Willi.

Williams look really impressive, need to get the car sorted in the wet but great job by them today and what fantastic starts they both had left the Mercs for dead off the line.

Yeah both good drivers always felt the Hulk has been a bit unlucky with getting the right drive.

Smedley saying the messages were misunderstood.

Clearly Bottas and Smedley have not got their story together before the interviews

The hulk is tall which is a disadvantage. Plus with the weight limit last year really caused him a problem. He has been unlucky in terms of moving teams.

Bottas is good my only worry is he doesn't blow massa off performance wise.

Bit angry was Rob when Kravitz questioned him.

Enjoyable race at last. Nice bit of on off rain to add some uncertainty to things but it was a good watch before that too thanks to Williams.

Apparently there's talk that Grosjean is getting the Ferrari drive for one year only next year...

It was a great sight seeing the Williams out front 1/2 today, but there was an air of inevitability that Mercedes would get past them in the end. On the whole a better race than the dross that has been served up over the last few races, but that was as much because the Mercedes boys were slow off the line. Some great racing by Lewis to hold on to the second place when Bottas attacked him although that was very early.

                    Grosjean to Ferrari really.

The Williams 1-2 was great to see today and certainly helped with the spectacle of the whole thing, shame the Williams is clearly a bit of a dog in the wet as they were doing a decent job of holding their own from the front.

Yeah Lewis did a good job today but I still can't help but think he got a bit lucky with the timing of his move to the inters.

Sad news but Jules Bianchi has died

                      Comment

Absolutely tragic news but not unexpected with the amount of time he was in the coma. That race should never have continued with the amount of rain on the track at the time and If the correct decision was taken then Jules would still be alive today. This was totally avoidable if only common sense had prevailed that day.

RIP Jules and thank you for making the sport I loved what it is today.

Sad news. Probably for the best after the injuries he suffered. Just one of those freak accidents. People forget how dangerous the sport used to be, its amazing that senna was the last to die. This was freak as he wasn't at race speed at the time.

It was a freak accident but Iirc the drivers and some teams were all saying that the race should have been stopped due to the amount of rainfall on the track a good 5 or so laps before Jules crashed. It only takes a split second for the car not to grip and you're just a passenger in the car with no control.

It is a dangours sport and like you said it's amazing that the last ones to die were Senna and Ratzenbuger who both died on the same race weekend. There been plenty of times I have seen a crash where I'm amazed the driver has walked away with no injuries at all and in some cases still alive. Spa 1998 comes to mind.

Hindsight is great, and you're probably right it should have been stopped, however a few inches the other way and he might of just hit the tyres. It's one of those moments I think fate plays its hand.

I must admit one of the things I love or used to about F1 was the big crashes and the danger. It's got so safe now that the races for me don't have the edge they used to. Drivers knew the dangers and death was part of racing. I guess that just became unacceptable in the modern world, and probably rightly so. I think the cars need to go faster. Today's F1 cars should always be the quickest they have been. What we seem to have got is a super safe car with no end of aids included plus smaller engines and less speed. It's also very dull.

I guess like football, the golden age of motor racing has gone, we just have to accept what we have and those days will never return.

Incredible to think that he suffered no impact trauma to the brain or i think head, it was the velocity combined with the sudden stop that moved his brain forward in his skull that did the damage.

Just a little more give under that crane and he'd have maybe...well, such a shame.
