Haven't watched the sport for ages but seems from following Twitter rules were applied unusually today and quite a dramatic finish

This was an absolute joke. I’d been getting back into the sport this year, but engineering the result they wanted was utterly farcical. **** this for a game of soldiers, maybe I try again in another five years, but maybe not.

It's the first race I've watched from start to finish and from what I could see, Hamilton carved a lead which was whipped away because of a random event, twice. Why not line them up and let them start with the gap that was there before the stoppage, like a Rally start? It's not like they don't have the data.
