It's a tragic accident. I know he's a muppet but it was interesting to listen to Darren Gough talking about how the game has changed, putting pressure on lower end batsmen to try and play every ball and how this is increasing the risks.

I assume it's meant to be the bowler, but it looks like Alistair Cook.

People around Australia are putting out their bats as a tribute too.

            Nice sign of respect that.

In other news unsurprisingly Cook has rejected KPs call for him to quit

Michael Clark's speech at Hughes' funeral yesterday is tough to watch. ****ing hell.

I think Michael Vaughan has said it but I hope this draws a line under the OTT nonsense in the Ashes - Clarke with his "you're gonna get a broken fackin arm" and all that ****e. I love tough, hard and even hostile cricket but it's gone too far now. Hope this renewed spirit in the name of Phil Hughes has a positive effect. I cannot believe Philip Hughes is dead ffs.

Wow just seen Clarkes speech, really tough to watch that

Let's hope as Shaggy said all the silliness that's crept in these past few years subsides a bit off the back of this terrible tragedy

That is a beautiful and poignant line.

People dying in cricket FFS... So tragic - from all the footage and comments, he seemed like a very genuinely nice chap. 26 years old...

Had a little moment when he was on 63 as well.

                                Great knock from him.

I watched the first few overs and he was smashing the Indian attack all over the place.
