England were 225-9 when James Anderson walked out to join Sam Curran.

They've ended their innings on 285, thanks to Curran's counter-attacking. He went from 16 off 65 balls to 64 from 119

        Sl 24-1

Close of play - SL 26-1

Reckon with the way this pitch is spinning, 285 is a cracking first-innings score.....

Yesterday I was hearing that they would do well to get 150. We might second time round.

              251 - for 6 wickets
England lead by 205 runs with 4 wickets remaining - still need at least another 50-100!

              Eng 301-7

Root's just gone for 124 - great innings

              England lead by 255 runs

Better than I'd hoped. Should be a decent finish.

                  Pakistan...

Chasing 176 to win, Pakistan needed just 41 runs with six wickets in hand before collapsing as they were bowled out for 171....

This last test has turned into a real nail biter...

Sri Lanka needed 101 runs to win when last man Malinda Pushpakumara came to the crease.

They now just need 43 to win
                    England need 1 wicket

Excellent series result that. SL aren't at their strongest and winning all the tosses helped, but three straight wins on the sub continent is always impressive, whoever you are.

Didn't they beat South Africa in the summer?

They do look crap but as you say, a good win nevertheless.

Yup good point - 2 nil, although having checked SL won the toss and batted first both times. I suspect if England had batted 4th in any of the games it wouldn't have been 3-0.

                              My predicted starting XI

                              Jennings
                              Burns
                              Bairstow
                              Root
                              Stokes
                              Buttler
                              Foaks
                              Moeen
                              Curran
                              Broad
                              Anderson

Really tough, I really wanted both Curran and Rashid in the side. Not sure how you fit them both in.
