Tim & the boys doing Root a few favours in that session. Winning the toss & bowling first then dropping those two catches. Denly should feel somewhat aggrieved that Smith didn't drop his."If Ritchie Blackmore fell into a vat of ****, he'd turn out to be wearing a rubber suit." - Ronnie James Dio

I love him but this ought to be Buttler's last chance too. One century in 35 Tests ffs, averaging about 20 odd in this series. Likewise Bairstow, averaging 20 odd all year.
Foakes must be due another chance. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Stokes gone, Root will really need to dig in now. England have an uncharacteristically long tail.

Was just comparing Buttler and Bavuma. Almost identical test records. Very different players. Middle order batsmen that get starts and can't do anything substantial with them (80+ scores). Their first class records aren't much better so it makes you wonder why they were even selected in the first place.

Butler is always batting with the tail, yes he could have done better but I don't think that stat tells the whole story of the circumstances in which he bats.
