I dunno which hurts most the hangover or the cricket score. What an awful awful day, followed by more punishment today

Did get back from cricket until 1am so having double the suffering.

England 2 down for 10. Trott been humiliated by Johnson again. Has been found out by Mitch in spectacular fashion. Should be over by this time tomorrow Id imagine

The Aussies were always going to have a test match like this eventually. Still a long way to go in the series. After all England have won the last 3 ashes series and if we had it all our own way it wouldn't be worth watching and it would become as stale and boring as Formula 1.

This hammering will make for a great series and should give England a kick up the arse.

A lucky draw is the only hope now.

Huge stubborn innings required from Cook and KP... Cook is capable, but really it isn't Pietersens natural game to defend his wicket, he is at his best taking the game to the bowlers and building a lead, so it will be interesting to see how he adapts. An early wicket tomorrow and I think we could see England Skittled.

I think the most important task, even in defeat is that England show some determination and make the Aussie attack sweat a bit.

Woeful couple of days for England though. Shocking.

We will be skittled. An embarrassing performance, hopefully they'll be suitably ashamed and this will spur them on. Oz had only won one Test match in all of 2013 and that was 11 months ago v Sri Lanka, so this hammering will be so embarrassing for the players.

Tremlett had a terrible injury and was out for over a year. He's done.

Biggest thing is Englands favour over the series is only needing a draw to retain the ashes.

So a disastrous first test can more easily be overcome in the grand scheme of things, had the Aussies had such a bad start it could have been a crippling blow.

Is there a cricketer with less class about him than Warner? Total cock head.

Don't wanna tempt fate, though I almost certainly will, but Cook and KP look well set here. Ton each please.

I'm surprised there are so many empty seats. Thought the Aussie fans would be out in force?
