Yeah Stokes was unlucky on second look. Always feels a cheap way to get out. Brook rode his luck and gave his away cheaply. But what a finish. Nervy until it got to single digits. Great to get the win.

Yep agreed, you can get away with a batsman/keeper in T20 and one day cricket, but you need a proper keeper for test cricket, and England have an excellent one in Foakes.

Definitely think Bairstow needs to sit out the rest of the series. That's the only thing wrong with the balance IMO.

Sets the series up nicely. Australia are by far the better team but England are plucky and might just be able to create something if a few players click - and the weather continues to be kind to them.

Its sad not to see him out there but he's world class in short form cricket, why bother with tests. But it'd be great to see. Certainly would be more excited seeing him come in at number five than the likes of Bairstow.

He's had a reasonable number of 'chances' but it's rarely worked out for him in the Test format as the article infers.
