Out of the 10 test games of the ashes series that are being played or have been played this year they were bound to win one at least and there is no surprise it was at a ground they haven't lost at for a long time and on their home patch. They win one and all of a sudden England should be afraid. They are the Fernando Torres of Cricket

I fully expected England not to be at our best in the first test match and we will improve

Hopefully Australia do well at Adelaide. Although if both teams top order turn up you can put plenty on the draw because its so often a lovely batting pitch there.

It was a classic test match though, I really enjoyed the ebb and sway of the first two days, that's the type of thing you don't get in the shorter forms of the game.

Also, much respect should be given to Cook, he seems an absolutely class guy. Healy did an extended interview with him and he just seems like a down to earth, intelligent person. And the way he fought for so long today showed how resilient he is. If you guys win the series I am almost sure its going to be almost single handedly down to him again.

        Banter from Stephen Fry

One can only think @MitchJohnson398, @davidwarner31 &c are uneasy about their erotic feelings for @joeroot05 so transfer them into bullying.

When you're that far in front that is the point!! That's beyond sledging for me - can't stand that guy.

Still fully believe we will retain The Ashes, and be all the more sweeter because of things like this.

Makes you want to see a rip snorting ball from Broad cause him some issues in the next test, low as **** comment from their captain, hoping that sort of scumbag behaviour spurs our team on to make it another ashes series win for us.

I imagine similar stuff goes on fairly often but of course we normally don't get to hear it. Still a cowardly thing to say to the rabbit number 11 when victory is guaranteed. It's not even as if Clarke himself would be bowling at him - he's relying on someone else to back him up ffs

The Aussies were always going to put a shift in for the first test. It's weather they have the quality to continue it throughout the series, which they don't. England are a world class side and second only to India IMO.

I fully expect us to bounce back and take the series 3-1

3-1 seems miles off to me. I said 2-1 to us at the start of the series but 2-2 looks more likely I reckon. We'll struggle in Perth. Adelaide is must win or it's curtains IMO.

Thankfully we only need to draw the series to retain the Ashes.

We desperately need to to put a decent score over 400 on the board and some of the pressure will lift.

Oh and Clarke and Warner are both cunts.

It's that type of wishy washy thinking, along with the calamitous rise of tea bags over leaves, that led to the collapse of the Empire and independence for the penals in the first place.

                              Are we winning?

I don't think it is. The key is not batting like idiots. Every morning we've looked comfortable to the point where it's seemed easy for our batsmen, but then in both innings we spectacularly threw away promising starts. It's all in the mind IMO.
