    Hatton Vs Urango 20th January.

Hatton has confirmed wha we all expected. He is to fight Juan Urango for the IBF version of the world title in January. The fight will take place in either Las Vegas or Atlantic City. Atlantic City would be a good venue due to the amount of fight fans in the area who loved Gatti. Now with Gatti gone they're looking for a new favourite.

The best of all is that Jose Luis Castillo will fight on the undercard which almost certainly points to a Castillo Vs Hatton fight next summer.

Hatton has suggested that his next two fights are tied up, so Castillo looks to be the one.

It would be an excellent fight so I hope that they both come through their fights in January in good shape with good wins under their belts. I don't know much about this lad Urango though, only that he apparently never deserved to win the vacant title that Hatton vacated.

What weight would that be at then? Most observers thought Colazzo won the first meeting with Hatton - as I did myself. I'd avoid Colazzo if I was Hatton.

Jose Luis Castillo not Luis Collazo.

Urango will give Hatton a stiff test imho. He is very heavy handed, but by meeting him whilst he is at an early point in his career, Hatton may steal a march on him. I think it will be a very similar fight to the Hatton- Collazo, and I would rate Urango as a better fighter than Collazo, and he hits much harder than Collazo. Fair play to Hatton in his choice of opponent though, he has picked a hard, tough individual to clash with. I think that Castillo would be an easier fight ( if fighting Castillo can ever be called easy ) for Hatton.

Castillo...EASY? To be honest what I've heard of this lad is all relatively posotive. He's been likened to a mini Tyson and from the pictures I've seen he's built like a brick ****house. I think, as you said, Hatton has more experience and it could possibly stand him in good stead.

As for Urango being better than Collazo...I'm not in a position to compare but I think Collazo has been slightly under rated and the fact that he was a full blown Welterweight certainly caused Ricky some problems.

Collazo was very under rated, but so has Urango imo. I genuinely think that Hatton will have a tougher night against Urango than if he fights Castillo. If Hatton meets Castillo, I think Hatton would win, but when Hatton meets Urango, I would not be overly surprised to see Hatton get a draw or even a loss.

Urango was a great amateur fighter, total pressure fighter, and sparked fighters with either hand. I have seen him a number of times in his non paid days against fighters from Britain and he seems to thrive against fighters that come at him looking to trade. This guy will come loaded for bear and Hatton will have to be at his very best to get a result against him.

Do you rate it that 50/50? Everyone else I've heard talk about him has said he prefers to fight on the back foot. I'm not sure what his K/O ratio is either. Hopefully it'll be a barnstormer with Hatton winning with a late stoppage.

                    13 K/O's out of 17 wins isn't to shoddy!

No he defo prefers not to fight on the back foot. He does like a tear up though, as he does not seem to cut easily and is very durable when taking shots to the body and to the chin. He basically is a tough little mofo with good skills. I have been impressed with Hatton's choice of fighters to go against to be honest, he is taking on dangerous fighters at a time when he could be taken on easier but bigger name fighters.

I do rate it as pretty close to a 50/50 fight, but, like I said earlier in the thread, it could be the right time to meet Urango before he gets more experience under his belt.
