I wanted to beat it, did 8mins 11secs for the 1st half mile and just managed to keep the pace going. Fastest mile was the last one in 7mins 48secs

Excellent!!! You just needed the right motivation If you are in my sights that is more than enough motivation

Now onto golf. It time you stopped ****ing about with these piss poor scores.

Don't think, just swing. Accept the outcome. Play the next shot and so on. One shot at a time you against the course. Don't give a **** about how the others are playing. It is YOU against the course.

Next challenge is to see if I can maintain the same speed through to 7.5k and then 10k. Consolidation time

          Screw golf

Passed the 100 mile mark this morning

Next week my younger step-daughter is off to Uni and the older one is off to Jordan for the 2nd year of her course. It means I can set the rower up again in the upstairs bedrooms

Does anyone else find their cock shrivels to nothing when they run or do a hard cardio workout? Mine resembles a walnut whip until I wiggle it after

Didn't read that "wiggle it" bit - sounds sinister.

Lazy bunch of *******s that we are let this slip on to page 2

Just did a 6k run in a shade over 31 mins, my training aid tells me that that's a 25:47s 5k run I'm quite shocked at the rate you can improve your speeds as you get stronger. I'm noticing that I'm far less tired but that as I get faster my legs are feeling more sore afterwards. I do stretch now but need to get in to the habit of doing far more stretching.

Assassassin, tell me I can't do it in under 25 mins please

What equipment do the runners and riders on here use to track their progress? I take my Galaxy Note out, in a very large fanny pack and use the Android Adidas MiCoach app that tracks GPS route, distance and time. syncs with the full version once I get home. I've got the MiCoach pacer kits too which has a pedometer that clips on to your trainers, a belt clip that gives instructions and a heart rate monitor. It's supposed to be used through an MP3 player but I've not tried in alongside the Android app. I used to be bothered about heart rate but now I'm just happy that mine's stilling ticking to be honest

I've been using a simple bike computer and post-ride I manually input my route on Runkeeper or, more recently, MapMyRide (because Runkeeper started charging for climb data).

But I'm imminently getting a Garmin Edge 810 with everything.
                      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I found that was a bit rubbish finding GPS on my phone and there were ads with it which annoyed me.

My running partners are trying to get me to get a Garmin watch but I think it'll get added to the pile of other gadgets I bought and don't really use.

i just use my galaxy s2 in a running pack that goes round my waste with endomondo running in the back ground. it tracks gps and time and updates me with my time each mile. its quite handy. i do not know how to add manual workouts though as i run a fair distance on the treadmill

I've got a Garmin 610. It's brilliant. You can get a ord chip and heart rate monitor to go with it too. Wireless syncing. Speed training function... It's the ****.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

That's the model my neighbour's got. Looks great but for £250 I'd want precious metals

My sister has the 210 and quite like it. Also if I'm honest the functionality of the 610 is wasted on me and I put in 40-50 miles a week so for increased training and blasting 5/10ks you would probably be more than stoked with the lower model. Stay away from the 405 though. It's ****.

210 going here with the HR strap for £125
