It seemed a bit strange that Federer planned to take a break after the Australian, where as most of the players see this as the start of the season. Must affect the mindset slightly?

Helps Murray a bit, after the absolute hiding Federer handed out to him in December. I am sure he fancies his revenge soon though.

Federer bombed out early. Quite surprised tbh I do wonder if this might be his season on tour. Won it all and nothing left to prove.

I think later in the year he could come good i.e. the US as well but I think this is a little early for him.

Djokovic is most likely to win this one I think loves it at the Aussie Open

I actually don't think he's going to challenge for the title here this time around even if he get's through this match he's looked out of sorts since coming back from his appendix surgery.

Yup good first round win for him, Nadal cruised through as well and Federer has just gone through in straight sets as well.

Murray does look to have a fairly tough draw with his seeded as it is.

Seeded to reach the quarters then; he's been playing well from what I've seen in the off season so hopefully he can better that this time around.
