I think England need to be brave, maybe accept that there could be a few defeats here, but stop trying to hit the 'par' scores and runs per over rates. When you see the likes of Guptil/McCullum hitting 200 odd in the WC, and compare it to the par score approach England have always taken its almost as if the teams are playing a different sport.

I reckon they should go to bat first innings and start swinging from the off

No. Not remotely. Won't watch a ball.

Sounds like Hales and Roy will be opening tomorrow.

            Step in the right direction.

The Interview with Brendan Mccullum before the match was fascinating. Going through his field placings and thought process for captaining the side during a game. Id try and find it if you can, up there with those masterclasses they do.

Root and Hales giving it a good old go at the start. None of this start slow bollocks today

Hales gone anyway, should slow them down a little

Its a tough ask to expect them to change overnight - but its the right way to go. It may take some time, and starting off against one of the best teams around is a challenge.

*cough* KP *cough* would be a good guy to have in the team whilst they attempt the transition.

Really positive start from England. Going for runs early, great to see.
