I'm currently injured so not allowed to play (havent played for 4 months and got another 2 or 3 months out ) but its a great game

My daughters both have individual lessons and have twice weekly squad training. My eldest is built to be a tennis player but lacks focus but she has good technique and is quite strong despite only being rake thin

My youngest isnt athletic at all, but she is a bit OCD and has honed her technique. My guess is she will probably end up being the better player as she has the drive to want to be the best
A bit of an Andy Murray - Jamie Murray scenario. The younger one will fight that bit harder.

My son is 6 and he is enjoying playing, I was really focused on not forcing him into it, but he seems to love it, and I can see real improvements in his hand eye coordination.

It was watching him and the confidence and whole heart way he threw himself into it, that inspired me to pick up my racket again.

You do see some really pushy prints around the courts mind you, for me the key is firstly that he enjoys himself.

I have an occasionaly wicked single handed back hand, totally uncoached, so am looking for ward to getting some coaching on that, as well a volleying, which can be a weak point (also leaving the ball when its going out, I've an obsession with hitting everything).

Whats the prognosis on your injury? Are you likely to be fit any time soon?

Yeah loads of pushy parents around

I have no problem with the girls quitting but they have to find something else to do if they do quit (something outdoors and not just looking at a tablet, pc or phone). They enjoy it in fact the eldest has recently asked me to give her some fitness training as she wanted to improve her general fitness. Thats satisfying seeing them want to do something to improve them outside of the squads / lessons etc..

I have Acute Adhesive Ankle Capsulitus on my left ankle, been through physio and now into a recovery programme but compensating for the injury on one leg is kicking off old football injuries on my right leg. I was meant to be back running in Mid / End February but because I have had to start fixing other injuries I think it will push back the ankle strengthening programme so it could be March or April now
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
