We seemed to miss someone like Poulter. McIlroy was doing his best to get them pumped, but Poulter seems to revel in it during Ryder cups. Cant effect hardly anything as a Vice Captain.
    *Except Michael, who died.

I don't think there's much Europe could have done about that - USA were just awesome. Just blew everyone away.

Sergio can absolutely hold his head up high though - what a match that was.

This surprises me (not Garcia bit)

Garcia didn’t make a bogey – one of just two Europeans with a flawless card on Sunday alongside Martin Kaymer

It was inevitable the Americans would win one sooner or later

You cant keep on winning and winning and winning

Heard a few commentators now suggesting that this is a new era of American dominance

For me theres not much at all between the better players of both sides (as the score cards suggested) and we have blooded a couple of rookies that look like they have a real future (Pieters and Cabrello) I think the difference was in the makeweights

USA's makeweights were better than ours. Will the experience have toughened up Willet & Sullivan & Fitzpatrick well time will tell

I'm not convinced the USA will dominate but I suspect it will flow back and forth between the teams over the comings cups

Ahem he actually came back and won his game after you stopped watching

Momentum is everything in the Ryder Cup and Westwood's miss set the tone for the singles. The top order did well (Reed McIlroy aside) but the tail was poor and out of form/inexperienced players couldn't pull it back.

Re Pieters - had been doing well on the Euro tour and Clarke arranged for himself to be paired with him in some recent event to see him first hand. He shot the lights out and went on to win IIRC and showed he could handle the pressure. Never played a major as far as I know but one to watch for sure. Let's hope he kicks on but Colsaarts and Dubuisson haven't made the jump yet.
