Looking like Murray will have to get past Fed/Nik in the quarters and Stan in the semi final. Why is his half of the draw always so tough?

Federer has Berdych in a Jedi mind lock. He needs to play the shots not the man. I suspect Federer reputation is such that it gives him a huge advantage over lots of players.
He's playing well here, but if you went on the commentary you'd think it was the best Temnis that had ever been played. Berdych can't pick Rogers serve at all, so it's one way traffic.Modifying post.

Thought Federer played really well last night, perhaps 6 months off has done him a world of good.
I'd like to see Andy Murray winning the tournament after so many near calls and brilliant finals, but i would also love to see Federer get one more major here.
He is absolutely adored here in Australia, and I think Murray will rule for a long time yet.
On a side note could not have been happier to see that brat Kyrgios being knocked out. He is a real prat, and i reckon most of the Ozzie public cannot stand him either. Thinks the world owes him everything and nothing is his fault!

He looks an incredible talent. Seems to have all the shots and will surely develop, potential to be a Slam winner and No1 for sure.
Good performance for Nadals confidence. Ive still yet to see anyone to perform to the level Murray or Djokovic have recently (obvs. Rafa and Roger have played at that level but not recently) so it is going to be interesting to see how the tournament develops now that it gets more serious. One half of the draw looks a stroll to the semis, the other looks brutal.Last edited by Buzzo; 21-01-17, 10:51 AM.Modifying post.

I always worry about Stan, his style really troubles Andy and on his day he can absolutely destroy him (and anybody for that matter). Think Murray will get past Fed in the quarters fairly easily but then might come unstuck. If he gets to the final then this is in the bag.Originally posted by RichC View PostYup, Murray has a terrible draw to get through, Djokovic bombing out has really opened up that side of the draw.
