It seems that Football is culturally way more advanced with these attitudes than Cricket. Maybe its the money involved, but you hardly ever see a top professional out on the piss much anymore. Even then, its never the night before a game.

You're getting confused with another story. He was out pissed in Manchester during a Test Match (it wasn't reported in the press), but the fight was something else entirely and was 3 days before a One Day International.
