Its great to see him back competing. Doing all right given a lack of time on court over the last... 4 years.
I live that he dissent give a **** if people think he should be playing any more. He is playing because he loves the game and can still enjoy occasions such as tonight.
Those injuries have cost him titles though.Modifying post.

I found it difficult to enjoy tbh. It was great seeing him pumped and coming from behind, but that Otte guy is a no-hoper and I found it hard watching Murray make such hard work of him. He's absolutely miles off what he was.
So funny when he kept shouting 'BELTER!' at himself
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Well, that’s true and Otte was a qualifier who has barely won on the tour. That said, and sill caveat this with no way is Murray winning this, he has had no time on court and is beating guys who have played a lot. Previous round was the 24 seed.
I think the journey now is just enjoying the remaining moments, the flashes of genius that still occur. I though elements of his rhythm and timing were returning towards the end, a couple of the lobs he played were fantastic.
I hope he can go longer into Wimbledon and more importantly avoid injury. If he can get into next week and still play without injury that does bode well for the future. He’s played 9 sets in 3 days on a metal hip! Testament to the power of medical science and the wonder of the hip replacement!!!
It’s not just because he’s Scottish, but tennis is so much more bearable with him in it. The only other guy that is an actual personality is Kygrios. I love the way Andy orchestrates the crowd to get himself fired up. It’s a huge advantage.Modifying post.

Just saw, he's got Shapalova on Friday. 10th seed. I dont think Andys game is there yet. But with him, you never rule anything out!!! If he takes a set, I think he could look on this as a positive return, but he is going to need a lot more time on court to make the improvements he needs.Modifying post.

It got away from him second set and I didn’t watch the third. But it was close at the start of the first. But then he slipped, changed his shoes, went 5-1 down, fought back to 5-4 then lost the set 6-4 (vintage Murray tbf). There wasn’t much in it.
I’m intrigued. Has he still got the game to compete? I think he has. But is he fit enough? To me he was maybe 5% down on mobility still chasing down a lot, but maybe not quite as well as he used to (though he did used to be a wall). So can he string enough tournaments together to be competitive? It all comes down to that.
He got to the last 32 at Wimbledon with pretty much zero match practice. It’s going to be interesting to follow. I just hope he doesn’t break down with another serious injury that would be tough to watch.Modifying post.
