What would help Konta is a level of belief, belief in her ability because she is good. And therefor admitting it wasnt her best day is not the end of the world.

Well, if she's got nothing more to say other than that she is a professional trying her best, there's no need for any more interviews really. She could have made her reasonable point and also answered the question rather than doing a trump. The interviewer really does need to take a lesson from the reaction though.

Re: Konta, i think its just latent patriarchy. The condescension in the way question was asked is there for all to hear, "the numbers are IBMs".

She does seem to have an issue dealing with lesser players, or maybe its just coincidence.

It’s quite similar dynamic wise to the Murray/Lopez pairing. Andy looking ok/solid enough but his partner on a real singles hot streak that is clearly carrying through to the doubles.
