Nadal didn’t turn up today, played nowhere near the levels of earlier in the tournament. Djokovic worthy winner today but **** me that was made easy for him.
Certainly going to be getting close to Federers 20 titles I think, wouldn’t rule out Nadal getting a bit closer as well
Really need to see the younger guys step up soon as the dominance of the top 3 men has now been for a ridiculous period of time.

Disagree.Originally posted by Zapater View PostDepends how he goes injury wise. He could get a few gimmies towards the end of his career like Federer got at the start of his. We are going to be somewhat between eras until the Zverev's, Tsitsipas' and Thiem's of the world mature and step up.
Murray was (is?) a decent enough player, but even at best wouldn't have gotten near Nadal and Novak the way they played this tournament.
At his best he was a level below them but he’d still be challenging. And on occasion would bloody a few noses.

I think Rafa will still win a few French Opens but good grief he was poor today, even with Djokovic being the best I've seen to date.Originally posted by Shaggy View Post15 Slams. Anyone think he can catch Federer's 20?
I could see him winning Wimbledon and the US this year, and those two plus Oz again next year. Think he'll go close.
Rafa looked like fodder today. A real chance for him to get to GOAT winning everything twice. Maybe that and Djokovic's game were too much pressure.

He is the best player around by a distance right now.
If he can stay fit for the next 3/4 years then he can do it.
Sooo frustrating for Andy - this would be the time for him to challenge and win some slams.

It’s kicked off a bit between Dan Evans and Jamie Murray...!

It was a bit weird at the end
Obviously the odds are stacked against him but...

Likewise
Sounds like there is a minuscule chance that he can make a comeback. But has a major operation to take on first.
I reckon he’d have had to pull out of he’d won today after 5 sets.

I shed a little tear at the end there.
Bit awks when he said he would try and make a comeback and then they played a video of a bunch of his fellow pros wishing him a good retirement

So much Yeah, doubt his hip is looking forward to five sets.
He HAS to keep going to Wimbledon, will be much easier than hard court.
It feels like a fitting venue for him to go out. I reckon he can win a few early rounds there, if he gets a kind draw.Last edited by Buzzo; 14-01-19, 11:39 AM.

Andy wins the third set, goes ballistic.
Its such a shame, because other than not being able to turn on one hip, he still has all the tools and attributes to be competing at the very top.
