Andy won his first ATP match yesterday beating world no 69 Tennys Sandgren.

I saw a bit of it, he looked very fit. Served well, and moved around the court unbelievably well. There were some signs of rust, in shot making and decisions but lots to be encouraged by.

He was understandably delighted.

That’s right, he did lose to Sandgren recently apparently.

I am really intrigued to see how Andy goes (if you hadn’t realised). There were points yesterday where he was running everything down and really frustrating.

His misses were all shot a into the net, and a bit of a lack of sharpeness. Does he have enough to climb top 20 and above???

I hope so.

If he can get a march on and time it as Novak, Rafa and Roger all hit injury worries he could surely bag a couple of slams????

Andy lost today.

Watched bits. Played well and had chances, but not quite enough. 6-4, 2-6, 4-6 Broken at 4-4 in third set. Fought hard but couldn’t turn it round. He’s getting better but a long way to go.

The Aus Open will be a real indication of where he is, the likelihood of him meeting a big seed early on is pretty high.

Andy Murray impressively beat Matteo Berrettini 7-6 (7-2) 7-6 (9-7) at the China Open to set up a second round tie against fellow Briton Cameron Norrie.

He reached the US Open semis didn't he. Great win that.

Beats that Brit Norrie in 3 sets. Bit worrying he seemed to make fairly heavy weather of beating some British chump although he cruised the third set. First time he won 2 on the spin since he came back.

Good win, but yeah doesn’t seem able to fully impose his game on other players.

He's done. I just can't see a way back for him from here. His game just isn't good enough any more. If he want's to keep playing he should stick to doubles because if this continues much longer it could tarnish what's been a magnificent career.
