    Konta looks beaten.

0-3 with one break second set.

    Konta absolutely threw that away.

    Under pressure now.

Konta hitting a bit more of a groove on her serve now.

Konta's 1st serve in ratio must be well below 40% too

Strycova's serving has hit a very good groove too now whereas Konta is dropping points on hers.

Most of them were marginal errors on her forehand, Strycova has exploited an obvious weakness well

14 unforced errors in opening 8 games is abysmal.

She seems to have a bit more bottle... but still looks incredibly nervous on big points. Needs to get to the semis at least here to consider her tournament a success.

3 unforced errors in a row from Aussie born Jo Konta bring first set back on serve

Coco Gauff wins through to week 2. Amazing composure from her even saving match point in the second set.

Absolute powderpuff match though with some of the tamest rally’s going on just endless meek backhand slice from both ends.

That game deserved to be into the second week. And the only reason it isnt is because Kyrgios doesn't take it seriously. A guy with his talent playing without a seeding is ridiculous.

I think he can have it all with a bit of discipline training wise.

    ...but who will coach him...?

He could have the lifestyle where he can play basketball and go to the pub, he just needs to trade a bit of it for practice. Maybe he needs (as we all do at times) the love and common sense of a good woman/partner*.

    *PC as **** caveat.

He's brought multiple plus ones, that's my boy!

Like that uncle who arrives at the wedding with a hooker on his arm.

Another plus one for Kyrgios. He's a throwback and adds a LOT of entertainment to a rather prosaic bunch otherwise.

We've got soooo used to the overly sanitised media friendly sports star, that the guy who tells it like it is seems to be almost alien.

Even the most straight forward question is asked with a trembling voice.

He will undoubtedly change, and you do wonder if he will have any regrets, but for now he is living the 24 year olds dream. Happy to be competitive not arsed about winning titles.

The media have jumped on the quote that he meant to hit Rafa, but that is because hitting it at Rafa is the one shot he is going to struggle to get back. As Kyrgios says himself, he's got good hands. Plus he got his racquet on it - so I dont see the fuss. No way should he apologise.
