Happy Australia Day! A bit jealous of those of you with a long weekend, and firing up the BBQ

Every weekend is a long weekend lol. Only difference is a don’t have to make sure my daughter wakes up for work.

BBQ was indeed fired up, Rump Steak, Lamb Chops, Cumberland Sausages coupled with a nice salad & coleslaw. Washed down with Millers Chill beer.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Yeah miss cooking on the BBQ big time. Used to use it all the time. Out on the deck cooking up some lamb, burgers or a steak. Used to live at the bottom of Mount Coot-Tha and would have all sorts of things wondering around outside the house and we’d be feeding the Kookaburras. Hoping to move back soon, missing the weather and lifestyle.

Yeah cooking under the pergola in summer is commonplace here at my place.

Just watched the BBL Final between Hobart Hurricanes & Sydney Thunder. Without a doubt one of the best batting exhibitions I’ve ever seen. Mitch Owen for Hurricanes hit the fastest 50 in the history of the BBL. Previous record was 25 deliveries & he got 50 in 16 balls. He got 100 in only 39 & ended up 108 off 42. The Canes won chasing 182 with 35 balls left

I’ll have to watch the replay of that, sounds amazing. Good to see a new team win it as well. Got a bit tired of the same couple teams winning most seasons.

14.1 overs only, that’s crazy. Saw some highlights and those 6’s he was hitting. What was it 11 6’s I think. T20 at its best. Always happy to see any Sydney side lose.

Yeah an absolute master class of T20 batting. Yeah 11 x6’s & 4x4’s from memory.

Portsmouth have signed another young Aussie. Hayden Matthews from Sydney, he’s young CB.

Only been to Tassie once & absolutely loved it. I’d hoped to visit again when I did the Gold Coast to Great Ocean Road road trip 14 months ago but the wife could only get 2.5 weeks holiday & the $1100 return car ferry couldn’t be justified for such a short trip.

He started this morning & Waddingham off the bench.
