Such a brilliant place - loved the fact that its cooler, has mountains and the ocean, excellent seafood, brilliant wine and now some pretty good whisky

All in a small 200k main city

Not sure I'd live there but an awesome place to spend a couple of weeks

January is miserable in the UK isn't it? At least here in Oslo there are winter activities available pretty much on your doorstep, so it makes the winters a lot more enjoyable than the ones I did in the UK - though at that point I didn't have kids, so pretty much just spent them in the pub

It’d be nice to spend a month or two down there to get away from the humidity of the GC summer but winters would be bleak
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

It’s the early sunsets that have really got me. Having the sun disappear at 3.30 in the afternoon is horrible. But then I do enjoy having the sun out until 9.30 in the summer, when the sun does come out of course which isn’t as much as I’m used to. SB will get that living in Queensland, blue skies and sun pretty much everyday.

Yep every day is a winner lol

But when the storms pass this is what we get. Welcome to summer in the tropics

              Those pictures are amazing.

We don’t get storms here and I finding myself missing seeing those clouds coming in like that. They may only last a short time but they can mess things up big time. The last couple of places I lived in were in apartments and the views were great for storm watching.

Cheers that was on Friday & fortunately it wasn’t a bad one. We’re getting 1-2 storms a week probably overall but sometimes it’s every day.

I lived in Singapore and Malaysia before Oslo and remember these storms vividly. They used to come on so fast and then disappear just as quickly

Yeah the storms are one of the toughest parts of my last job working on the roads doing traffic control. Hot as hell in summer & the usual afternoon downpour to throw a spanner in the works.

I see the super rugby comp starts next week on the 14th. I used to watch it a lot when it was on Foxtel but once it went to Stan you had to pay two subscription fees, one for Stan and then another for Stan Sport. It’s also not been the same since the SA teams left.

I haven’t checked the programming out yet but last season Ch 9 had a match on each Saturday from memory. I’ll suss that out.

Here’s the full list of where to watch the Super Rugby . And yeah we get 1 match on Saturday night on free to air.

I forget how early the Super rugby starts - always catches me by surprise

Wonder how **** the Waratahs are this season - just the usual level, or extra special?

They’ve been bad for so long now hey. Not sure if it’s the recruitment team or players just don’t want to live in the most expensive City in the country ?

Hopefully going back to 4 teams will help with the talent less spread out. I think that’s been a big reason for the drop off. When Perth first came in they took so many Queensland players that they dropped right off and took a long time to recover. Australia didn’t have the depth of talent to cover so many teams.

Just seen Jordan Petaia has left rugby to try and make it in the NFL. That’s a shame he’s a great player. I wonder how he’ll go.

I watched quite a few of the Fijian Drua and Moana Pasifika games last season because of the time difference and being up so late on the weekends and they were always entertaining to watch.
