Is our Stevie in with a shout? (he ****in better be).
"Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

I dont think Gerrard deserves to be in the running this year.
Andy Murray and Darren Clarke off the top of my head I would expect to be there or there abouts.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

    * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

It'll be Darren Clarke, but probably in terms of sporting achievement, in an otherwise terrible year for British individual sport, should be Joe Calzaghe.

Darren Clarke all the way for me. He had my crying my eyes out during the Ryder Cup for his acheivements (Man up Howard FFS! Man up!).*

Calzaghe's not a bad shout - but Chicken Joe has just pissed on his chips by agreeing to fight Jack Duckworth or somebody !!

        * He'll have the whole country in tears if he wins the SPotY!!!

Think Andy Murray should be there or thereabouts. His ranking now compared to a couple of years ago is staggering, although as he said himself he probably wont win it coz he has the most boring voice in sport.
            Quit your jibber jabber!!!

Jermaine, you know the song Billie Jean...is it about the tennis player??

Listen, Joe will win but he has picked a tough fight believe me. That Duckworth fella has racing pigeons on his side. There's no messing with Jack and his flying rat pack. I say round 5, Calzaghe weaves out the way of the famed 'pigeon fancier's lung combination', and smacks Jack in the glasses right where he uses a plaster to hold it together, bam out cold.

darren clarke, brilliant, gone through so much, but taking away the sympathy vote , the ryder cup is a team game, you win as a team.

its got to be big joe
