    Washing machine problem - HELP

i have a ProLine FLP10W washing machine, fairly new, just purchased it last year from a shop called Kev's Electrics. It is one of those where the top opens, then you open a little metal bin, put the laundry in, and it spins kind of up and down (instead of round and round).

Anyway, my wiff left the inside metal bin open and ran the machine. Now it will fill up with water, but won't spin.

i figured out the large rubber band had broke.

Anyone know how to repair that?

Is it something I should be able to get at Castorama?

Or am I better calling a repair man, and if so, know any8 in Skem that speak English?

That's the funniest thing I've read in the jokes forum in ages.

BTW - get a repair man, if you don't you will void any warranty.

Anyway, my cunting washing machine has packed in. It's quite new and has already packed in once before FFS. It seems to object to my rather heavy Ben Sherman dressing gown and the ******* doesn't spin/rotate anymore. I am clueless about this stuff - does anyone know if there's a potentially quick and easy fix for this? Before I ring the repair man, again?

Have you tried taking it off before you wash it

The elastic band has come off. Chances are you won't be able to reach inside far enough to put it back on, but worth a try. If not, get a repair man in.

BTW, it's not a ProLine FLP10W from Kev's Electrics is it?

Awesome, cheers. How do you know this stuff?!

I'll get the wife to have a go in a bit.

And no, no it's not. Carl was basically an early incarnation of Jenkins, I forgot they were both from Skem.

                            Is it integrated, or not?

Basically, if you can take the back off, there's a good chance you can get to the 'elastic band' / belt. Try putting it back on the drum. There's a good chance it will have stretched/broken, and if so, buy a new one from your local Kev's Electrics. Should be able to fit it yourself. Don't be affraid of unscrewing parts of it to gain access, but (top tip coming) keep the screws, and put it back together afterwards If you can't, call a repair man.

Mine opened at the top, so the repair man had to take pretty much all of it apart to fit a new belt. Charged me £100.

                              What does that mean?

Thanks for the advice, I'll read it out to her when the little 'uns gone to bed.
