You are in a room where there are 3 light switches, labelled 1,2 and 3. Down the hall is another room with 3 light bulbs labelled A,B, and C. ther's a blue rope (made of polyester) connecting the doors to each room such that as you open one door it closes the other. The wires from the switches are mixed up inside the wall, and each go from a switch to a bulb. Your object is to find out which bulb is connected to each switch. Furthermore, there is no door handle on the outside of the door of the room that you are in, so once you open the bulb room, and close the switch room you can not re-enter the switch room.

Switch one on and leave it on for a while - then switch it off and switch another on. Head to the rooms - the one still on corresponds to the switch that is on (surprise), the one you had on can be determined by the heat of the bulb, and the other one (that's off) is from the switch you never touched.
