Doug Ellis on Gillett and Hicks

"I could have sold to them for a lot more money..made a bigger profit for myself. However, in the process I would have put a millstone round the neck of Aston Villa due to them taking a dividend to make interest payments. Randy Lerner didn't want to do this and I'm glad I sold to him rather than Gillett'

Now ****ing tell me why Moores and Parry sold to these two cocks. I'm sorry, I just don't see how Parry gets the sole blame and Moores gets away with it for being a Liverpool fan. It's a total joke and whichever way you look at it Moores sold to the people who gave him more profit, but weren't right for the club.

It's difficult to compare the two because the amount Villa cost is far less than us, but Lerner does seem to be a far better owner than our two muppets.

On evidence, far far far better.

Just been interviewed on Sky. Really embarrassing for us and Gillette. How they can survive with public opinion, not only in Liverpool, but also in the rest of English football (Ferguson, Ellis), against them remains to be seen....

Look at the Glazers. You don't hear them and Fergie has got all the latitude in the world to manage the club. If he wants a player, money is there, they don't mess with him as he's the boss as regards footballing matters.

Public Opinion means nothing to them because they are never here.

Now that Foster appears to have pissed off back over the water they are truly absentee landlords, popping over now and then for the big games or when there is some glory to be basked in.

That to me is one of the worst things about their reign here, that they were allowed to swan in and buy us and have hardly been back since. That shot on Monday said it all - Parry and Moores looking on forlornly whilst the seats next to them remained empty.

                Ouch.

Moores and Parry really did screw up if someone like Doug Ellis was able to see through Gillett whereas they didn't.

Un****inbelievable. Even a dithering old fool like Ellis managed to suss these cunts out and did the best for his club. Moores, hope that extra 8million was worth the future of mediocrity you've left us with.

We should sit tight before making declarations, in my opinion. Whilst Moores and Parry hold a great deal of responsibility in what happened, things may have been a tad more complicated than that.

Moores, it was well documented at the time, wasn't in the best of healths. He was reported to being under extreme pressure to sell, by the board of directors at the time and for the simple fact that this saga had drawn for so many years.

As I said previously, DIC pulling the plug on the deal, didn't leave Moores with much choice. They had only one bidder left ! In hindsight, it's easy to say that he shouldn't have sold to these yanks, but I remember that we as fans, were also getting restless at this whole saga.

Moores is a true red. He may have made an error of judgment, which I'm sure he dearly wants to put right at this moment in time. Don't judge him and treat him like that, he doesn't deserve this.

Remember hearing about this for the first time a while back.

Hicks wasn't involved in the Villa bid though and whilst I wouldn't cut Gillett any slack it seems to be Hicks who has made things worse for us.

This is one from Moores that I made up.

"I could have sold to DIC for a lot more money..but I wanted to make a bigger profit for myself. So, in the process of selling I went behind their back to talk with Gillett and banked myself £8m extra. Gillet was happy to do this for me in a matter of days so I went with him."
David, I know you have the club's best interests at heart but you are an absolute disgrace.

Would have been curious to see you in his shoes.

Don't be a fool Rashid, there are probably many things that you don't even know.

I have heard comments along these lines before, maybe not scathing as such but I seem to recall it being mentioned that Gillett was looking at other clubs.
