He has signed a 5 year contract with them that will not start till the end of the season as that is when the player wages cap in the states is lifted.
    His statement was.....
"I have played for the 2 biggest clubs in the world and feel that now is the right time for a new challenge."

Looks like Rafa's right again. The club move too slowly in transfers and now we've lost the chance to sign another world-beater.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

5 year deal to be a cheerleader for LA galaxy - what a knob. Waste of whatever talent there was left. Even his corners and free kicks are average.

His merchandise sales will cover this.

Do you really think he can generate $50m a year in merchendise?

england career surely over, he has a few years left in him in top flight football, stupid desision for a footballer but makes sense for his wallet and his wife...

Doesn't the MLS have a wage cap too?

I hope the league goes the way of one set up in the seventies. Sure Beckham will bring the crowds initially, but the novelty will soon wear off.

I beg to differ. I think yes..the novelty of seeing Beckham will bring in the people, but after seeing the game itself will keep them coming. I hope it will be a massive boost to the game in this country. And American's love their sports gear, so I'm sure Beckham's name will be on lots of shirts.

They scrapped their wage cap to attract Beckham and hopefully other aging stars to the league. He has only gone their because he is already big in Europe and Asia so now he will try to crack America.

Plus being in LA when he retires he may try is hand at acting I reckon.
