The 'fans' won't stop until they are punished. The trouble that's been going on in Italy for years is far worse than anything that's happened over here since the ban IMO. Racism, Ultras, flares, fireworks and all kinds getting thrown. Hooliganism is far more commonplace over there, they just haven't had the same punishment yet.

    They should now.

I couldn't agree more that hooligans should be punished but we know from experience that that is not how it works. The club gets punished and these ******s move on to the lower division or their local pub. The fans on the whole are not the problem, the problem is the ultra fans as you say. This business has got well out of hand and should have been stamped out a long time ago but the truth is that the clubs and (by proxy) the real fans will get hit by this and the problem will just resurface.

How on earth did the Real Madrid fans manage to throw a scooter from the stands towards Figo? It is nuts! The extreme hooligan element should be removed and clubs that fail to assist the authorities heavily fined or any other punishment that seems fitting.

From what I have heard and seen the Ultras are untouchable at some Italian clubs and regulary abuse/attack the players during trainging sessions. This is insane and from the very top should be dealt with.

What a Sad day for Football in General

Italian Football Led the way a Couple of Years ago, but it has now deteriorated beyond recognition

Sadly this kind of Violence is not Unique to Italian Football. France is not Far behind. Incredibly English Football, long considered the most Violent League in Europe, has cleaned up its act and shown the Rest of Europe, how to deal with the Problem

Yeah, still be nice to see UEFA not handling them with kid gloves tho. Milan should have been kicked out of Europe this year after their points deduction.

This makes me very sad to hear this. He was just sitting in the car and they fired something into it

They should be banned from European comps including the next International comp. Dirty ****ers

I remember Inter fans chucking a ****ing scooter off the top tier of the San Siro. I've heard on SSN that a linesman in some Serie D game recently got hit by A DRUM, and some other guy was killed in a fight at the end of a game???!?

Crazy. The Italians, on a domestic level, have been the worst in Europe for years. It HAS to be sorted ASAP.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

                      just seen it on SSN.
An absolute disgrace, RIP Filipo Raciti
I have seen crowd violence at first hand over in ITaly, its very common place, away fans stil have to be caged in, was with my gf at a milan ame when this was happening, she was terrified, so i lfet shortly after half time.
As soon as we got outside, we were aproached by a group of young ITalians on scooters, like they were patroling the ground or something looking for away supporters. thankfully they decided against doing any wrong doing. Italian matches are not a place for family entertainment. Not from what i seen anyway.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

The worst thing is the people who suffere are always the innocent ones. THe ones just trying to do their jobs ffs!

Ultras have always been around, but lately these ultras have become more and more absurb and more and more violent. Some don't even have anything to do with the club and are using it as an excuse to pick a fight. Look at the ones who rejected our show of friendship at Anfield from Juve, how many of them were flying the Ultra flag? The stupid moronic sheep instinct led by some fiery idiot who wants to pick a fight, and these damn idiots follow. Milan recently disbanded one of their oldest Ultra organizations, the Fossa di Leoni in 2005 because it was getting too violent and there were too many unpleasant elements... Nasty!

I was in with that lot with my gf I was a bit naive asking for tickets, i wanted to see the ebst atmosphere, so the bloke at the hotel who could get tickets, got me two tickets for the sud curve, behind the milan goal on the middle tier, very partizan. Crowd was dominated by 20-30yr old men it seemed. GF couldnt get out quick enough.

I hope the authorities in Italy hold to their current stance. There should be no more football in Italy until they find some resolution for the current situation. These "ultras" are a scourge of the Italian game.
I remember working in Pescara in 1990. They were a little against me at first, coming from Liverpool - but I could say even then that I had seen worse violence watching a female volleyball game in Italy than I had seen in 12 years on the terraces at Anfield.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

That's a tragedy ! Football should be about enjoyment and good banter, nothing more. It's a shame that the sport is being hijacked by ****wits such as these fans !

What they must do is to do what has happened in England. They need to cover the whole stadium with cameras so they can see everything that is going on.

Then punish the guilty ones with life time bans from watching football and send them to jail. They also need more stewards inside the stadium that is looking at the crowd the whole time.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
