crouch's incident wasn't a high boot though, was normal height, crouch bent down to head it so not the defenders fault

      Terry injury fears allayed
The Blues defender was rushed to hospital following a sickening head injury in the second half of Chelsea's 2-1 win, but any fears of a serious problem have seemingly been allayed.

Terry was allowed to return to the scene of his side's victory after his absence meant Frank Lampard was called upon to lift the Carling Cup.

The England skipper sustained the injury when Abou Diaby attempted to clear from a corner and only succeeded in booting Terry full in the face.

During a lengthy delay in play -with the Blues skipper lying unconscious on the pitch - medical staff from both sides treated Terry as a number of players voiced obvious concern at his condition.

However Chelsea have now been boosted by the news that their leader has returned to join in the celebrations following a dramatic win in Cardiff.

Match-winner Didier Drogba - who scored twice following Theo Walcott's opener for Arsenal - spoke after the final whistle of his distress at Terry's injury.

"Today is strange," Drogba told Sky Sports. "We won and we're happy because we've got the cup but we are also scared because we didn't know what to expect when we saw JT on the floor.

"I think more about JT than the cup.

"It is difficult because he was one metre away from me (when it happened).

"We saw his character and this is why he is our captain and why he is the best."

Crouch bending down would still need a High boot to connect

Nor was this one. Terry was diving low to head out.

How much higher must his foot be? Look at the photo above. Well above hip.

I was in the pub this afternoon watching the game and this one bloke said (after the Terry incident):

‘If that was a Rugby player he would have got up and rubbed his head and got on with the match’

The first thing that came into my mind was how the **** was Terry suppose to get up if he was unconscious.

I'm involved with Sports medicine at Club Level. I see far more Serious Injuries in Football than Rugby.

I think the main reason is that rugby players are more used to physical contact and are better prepared (Training and most importantly protective gear)

Football is played at a quicker pace and players dont always expect the physical contact

Great Captain to be fair, proper old school player.

Only think is one of these days he'll get a injury and could finish him if he goes in like he did today. Some say brainless or brave 50-50 i guess
