And point well argued, I must remember to tell Teddy Sheringham that he was finished 10 years ago though!

no i dont think so, none of my family bear any resemblance to mr. potato head and arent half as boring. i dont understand how a man with a face and personality like that can make it on television.

its a good thing for west ham teddy sheringham stuck around he's been vital to the relegation battle

Rob Jones was a great player until the injuries got him. He`s nowhere near a list like this.
Michael Thomas, is that the player that won his club the title playing away to the other title contender? Would hardly say he never made it, although he wasn`t great for us.

        What a tosspot he was.
Had a great game against Juve at home though. So some talent must have been there.
Bad attitude left him without the games he needed to nurture his talent though.

My apologies. I was thinking more towards the line of Rob Jones being forced to retire because of injury despite having bags and bags of talent, hence in that way, he didn't fulfill his legacy of dominating the right side of the defence throughout the land. Gary Neville wouldn't be near england squad if that happened.

He missed the decisive peno a few years back in the play-offs to send Cheltenham to the final

Nii Lamptey was the next Pele before his dramatic fall from grace. Big things were tipped for Kevin Gallen.

Gianluigi Lentini was the worlds most expensive player after a bidding war between AC and Juve, he flopped big time and then had a car accident and never managed to turn it around. Still playing in Seria D now though with Diego Fuser.

The "next" Maradonas have already been mentioned, but its a pretty long list. I d like to add Ariel Ortega to that one.

A big dissapointment I remember is Florin Răducioiu who did really well in USA 94 but just tossed it off at West Ham and went shopping with his missus on Oxford Street.

Darren Caskey was supposed to be Spurs next big thing and did nothing, whilst Michael Bridges was a scoring sensation at Leeds before injuries ruined his top flight career.
                              Forwards.......

I have to agree. Suker was top notch, easily one of the best strikers around while he was in his prime.
