Yes. He'd do a good job with England.

Clever, understated, doesn't shag his secretary.

venables was decent enough. i think mclaren is crap though his players aren't exactly helping him they are to intrested in coming out talking bull**** to the press about how good they are instead going out and showing it! complete pack of overpaid celebrity loving wasters!
I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman.

Hoddle did not say them things. For flitting moments he looked a good manager but, at the end of the day, the handicappeds are paying the price for sins in a former lifetime. Tight. Tight.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I think the last decent English manager was Brian Clough tbh.
                Oh I don't know.

McClaren did the right thing dropping Beckham in my opinion.

He was carried for 4 years in Englands midfield and I don't think you could justify his inclusion ahead of Aaron Lennon or SWP for example as they are certainly more mobile.

I think Steve Coppell would be the best of a bad bunch in terms of McClarens replacement although I'd still like to see Harry Redknapp have a crack. I know for all his flaws, his teams do try to play good football and it would surely be more interesting!

Another possibility would be just letting an ex-player with a high profile get a chance. Van Basten and Klinsmann both did good jobs for their national sides without any prior experience. Why couldn't a well respected player with a bit of sense do the same for England?
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

Well, I don't care. I think he is a tosser!

he might be a tosser but he was a good england manager and probably the last good manager. and the thread is about good england managers not tossers. although the lists might be very similar
