    Maybe there's another explanation.

The Press were going to carve him up if he had answered their questions. He would have had to sit there and take it and whatever he said would have been reported in the worst possible light.

Now at least everyone knows he hasn't said anything about it and it makes it look like the Press have simply got a vendetta against him.

I think it will backfire but maybe it's more calculated than it appears.

Then again, with it being the deluded, overpromoted McClown (good one, captain fog), he probably just mistook rudeness for passion and huffiness for pride.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

      I wanted a shock 0-0 tonight.

It would have been the best thing for English international football.

The FA are far too divorced from blame. If SCS had ****ed up tonight, the press finger would have been squarly pointed at them. As it is, we all know he's a joke, and we may get a chance to bumble through the qualifiers, (probably through a play off), for us all to get hyped up at the local petrol station to buy one of those St.George car ****ing window flags next European championship.

And championship is probably a poinient word here. The FA SHOULD have to pay players wages/compensation for time taken away from the club. It would make them bloody think about who they are selecting and why.

I reakon a team of players with less club commitment would have much more to offer to an international team, regardless of what level they play, instead of 11 'superstar' individuals + WAGs + image commitments, etc etc...

Andorra coach David Rodrigo said that Gerrard and Aaron Lennon were the only threats to his team.

"As time went on, England became frustrated and that helped us as we were finding it easier to defend against them," said Rodrigo.

"We played well and made it difficult for England, but in the end we were very tired.

"I think the difference in the fitness levels between the two teams showed and it came down to Gerrard, who was the best player on the pitch.

"Apart from Gerrard and Lennon, none of the England players really caused us problems."
When we only have two players on the pitch that can trouble a group of part time plumbers, mechanics and chemists..we are in serious trouble.

Did anyone else notice that Lennon was running around like a speeded up version of Mr Bean tonight???

One good thing to come out of tonight though was Stevies performance and hopefully he will now be fired up to lead the charge against the gooners on Saturday.

For once, international duty could actually benefit us?

Yep, he was quite average. England at the moment seem to require an individual to put in a performance and bail them out. There is no team play whatsobloodyexactly ever. Gerrard was the only real class act on the pitch and his interview after was spot on.

No decent wingers, find goals hard to come by, solid at the back tho..... I'm getting a feeling of deja vous here!

Lennon, on his performances for england so far why do people think we should spend 15m to buy him? waste of time.

based on England performance Rooney is also useless, don't think that is how he should be judged.

Nugent was a disgrace, he shouldn't had gone for that. It would be real funny if the linesman flagged him for being offside when Defoe hit that shot. Defoe must gutted not to be able to add one competitive goal to his name having such a prat like Nugent steal it from him.

                      A disgrace?!???

All good strikers should follow-up like that....prowling and looking for bits and pieces.

Sure, but that was clearly going in with no one within 5 yards, it's as good as a stolen goal.

A stolen goal but it's still a goal. The record books won't say it was stolen. Defoe would've done the same - all good strikers would.
