Not exactly the kind of player I want at our club. He's had his chance. We've moved on but I must admit to still feeling extremely bitter towards him and always will.
        Kurt...

IF Owen was to come back and let's say by chance he made a meaningful contribution by scoring goals that won us the league or/and champions league, would you still be singing the same song?

The boy's made some mistakes. Everyone does. If he was to come back I would welcome him with open arms. Personally I think his pace will have probably gone with that knee injury but he still has that magnificent touch.

We got money for him, not as much as we would have got if we had sold him for a year earlier but that was a mistake from our board, a very expensive mistake.

Owen used that to his advantage.

Gerrard used his position to get over £100k/week and Owen used his to get a move to Real.

Players will continue to use the clubs if they think they can gain anything from it.
Couldn't give a **** what stories you drag up mate. If he wanted to stay, he'd have signed. He waited and waited... and waited. He forced Liverpool's hand and he knew it. He's an intelligent businessman, he knew EXACTLY what he was doing. Once that transfer window closed he'd have sat tight til January then looked for the pre-contract. To come out afterwards saying that he didn't want to leave and blaming us for selling him, was nothing short of a joke.

He wanted back because he didn't become the Galactico he'd hoped, instead being forced to sit on the bench, regardless of how many goals he scored. He wanted back because he wanted to come to the European Champions as Numero Uno and not a benchwarmer.

          **** him

If he had told Real Madrid that he refuses to go to Newcastle under any circumstances then maybe he would be at the club of his choice. But as he has no balls, he panicked about not playing enough games to get him fit for the World Cup and jumped at the chance to play for a no mark side like Newcastle.

I have ZERO sympathy for Owen. Every major career decision he has made has back fired spectacularly and he only has himself to blame.

                Career first?

More a grudging handshake. I still haven't forgive Stevie G for his 2 summers of whoring with Chelski.

I feel the way I do about him and that wont change. He's nothing but a lying two faced Gary Lineker clone.

He doesn't care about us, he thought he was bigger and better than us. He's found out the hard way that he's not.

It wasn't anything about Galactico. If he had come back then Rafa would be the one who decided how much he would play, no one else.

No one knows if he would have left if he hadn't been sold. He said that he wouldn't leave on a free so if he had not been sold then he may or may not signed a new deal. Who knows?

Being a better businessman that Parry and Moores isn't that difficult.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

good point no player is bigger than the club. the club has moved on without him and he has found that out the hard way maybe its a lesson to footballers to appreciate what they have got, i don't grudge people going to other clubs but owen had the lot he was the star man here and he should have cherished that role instead of exploiting it to get a move!
