I don't think Alladyce would go for Barton.

Barton in for £5m and Parker out to West Ham for £8m.
Two similar players but Barton scores more.
£3m in the bank.
Makes perfect sense to me.

I can see that logic - but I think that unless Parker is part of the 'dressing room unrest' at Newcastle then he is the better player and thus worth keeping for £3m. When he played a more advanced role at Charlton he offered more of a threat on goal - but he has basically shielded the defence (which has been a much needed role) at Newcastle. I also think that Alladyce would be well advised to not bother with a prick like Barton if he has to make the squad overcome some internal friction.

He'll no doubt announce the deal for Barton tomorrow now I've said that.

It´s a shame really, always loved watching Titus play...he also got rid of Bernard and Moore along with Srnicek. As I said, he´ll make a good team out them, this is a good step one.

it was funny when we played them and Bramble was on the bench, he started getting ready to come and the whole ground started cheering him - when he came on everyone was chanting "bramble for England"
