Hargreaves to complete £18m Scum switch

£18 million scares the life out of me really.

If a player like Hargreaves goes for that kinda cash, what could we end up having to stump up for Mascherano?

I do think though that this kind of improvment in the team by buying a couple of players for big money is the way forward instead of buying 5 or 6 players for comparable amounts of cash. There is no doubt that Hargreaves is too much money but Carrick was too much last season and that lot ended up with the Premiership.

That lot ended up with it cos of Scholes and Giggs. They ain't gonna be around for much longer. Ronaldo had a truly amazing season but only managed to turn it on against the weaker teams. Players of his type generally have a couple of halcyon years where theyr'e just unstoppable. After that they still remain great players but rarely hit those heights again. Am I convincing anyone with any of this?
Rooney's not looking anywhere near the world beater he was once touted to be in my book which kind of backs up my earlier argument about Ronaldo. This Man U team, good as it is, has a very "short term" look about it in my view. I don't think they'll spend a lot in the summer on top of the Hargreaves deal cos Sir Alex is probably thinking he got his next great side in Foster, Evra, Vidic, Carrick et al.

But then I said that about Carrick and they went on to win the league....

Scholes made Carrick look good. Carrick is an average player.

I dont know where he is going to fit them 3 in the team, someone will lose out unless he plays Hargreaves on the left
