Fiorentina - Toni out, Pato in?

Fiorentina president Diego Della Valle insists he will abide by Luca Toni's decision to leave the club this summer.

The 30-year-old Italian striker, who is under contract with the Viola until June 2009, is a target for Bayern Munich, and some reports suggest the two clubs have already reached an agreement for Toni to play for the German giants next season.

And Della Valle admitted he will not stand in the way of Toni's wishes.

"With Toni there is no need to talk," said Della Valle. "He and I know everything there is to know.

"He has made up his mind (to leave), he is a champion, he is good person and he merits our and everyone's respect."

Toni, who was a member of Italy's World Cup winning side last year, joined the Viola from Palermo in the summer of 2005.

In his first campaign with the Florence-based outfit, he helped the club qualify for the Champions League qualifiers while he also finished as the top scorer in Serie A with 31 goals.

Fiorentina were unable to play in Europe this season after being handed a points deduction for match-fixing, but Toni was the team's joint-top scorer alongside Adrian Mutu with 16 goals.

Anyone else think he would be a good signing if he hasnt gone to Bayern already???

He's going to Bayern, its absolutely nailed on, that quote only confirms it. To the general footy forum with this thread I think....
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
        Mine angry and defrauded young?

yup that's what I heard as well, decent enough player, but dunno if he has the mobility to play in England.

              Pato to replace Toni?

              Fiorentina discuss ambitious Pato bid
              tribalfooball.com - May 28, 2007

Fiorentina powerbrokers are discussing a shock move for Internacional de Porto Alegre starlet Alexandre Pato.

Benfica, Chelsea, AC Milan and Inter are all keen on the 18 year-old, with the Portuguese giants going well down the road with Internacional officials last week over a fee for the striker.

Corriere dello Sport says Fiorentina have discussed at board level rivalling Benfica for the youngster and are now waiting on the Della Valle family making the cash available to enter the bidding.

Internacional are refusing to take calls from interested clubs unless they're willing to begin at £12 million as a starting point for Pato.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

This should be in the footy forum. It has nothing to do with LFC.
