It's probably the bleakest, most depressing place of all the areas represented in the Premiership, and there are often thousands of empty seats in their shít new ground. They're seldom in serious relegation trouble, and they NEVER threaten the higher echelons of the league. How dull must it be being a Boro fan? Granted, they don't do badly in the Cups but league-wise it must be very grim. They've also had some horribly uninspiring managers, notably McClaren and Bryan 'I'm an alcoholic' Robson.

Mind you, in the late 80s, they were minutes away from going out of business, so the older fans amongst their support might well be milking this Prem lark for all it's worth. They should be very grateful to Steve Gibson, and I think most are.
Most Middlesborough fans seem decent and to be fair they develop a lot of good English players. I think there is a place for a team with a real local identity like 'boro in the PL.

I agree they have had some odd managerial appointments but Robson some how convinced Juninho and Ravenelli to sign and they were a fun team to watch back then (even if they did get relegated).

I never said owt about being disrespectful?

Point taken about Boro having gone down once or twice while Villa have just hung around like a bad smell.

That's a good point about their production line of local talent - their academy has surely been the most successful of any Prem club - but I disagree about their fans. I've met some right cavemen from Boro, and a couple of lads I know have had their faces caved in by Boro neanderthals. It's a backward, in-bred kinda place, with backward, in-bred supporters.

I guess they only allow the classier element out to York and London then. I've never been to the city itself so i will bow to your superior knowledge of the fan base in general but all the ones I have met have seemed like very genuine fans.

villa are a joke happy enough to be there no belief or ambition, they always have a good spell then go unheard of for the rest of the season. they played utd a few times this year on each occasion utd were poor but villa never once had the belief that if they attacked them they could get a result they were just happy enough to run them close. a pityfull boring club imo!

I'd go for Boro and Villa. Boro's stadium is always half-empty which speaks for itself ... and Villa is so boring that I rather watch Teletubbies.

I'm with the majority here - it's got to be Boro, despite the very good point made about their academy.

Yep, got to go with Boro. No matter who they play I can never watch them.

Boro. Without a doubt. There is no point to them whatsoever.
