Denmark vs Sweden: Punch thrown by fan at '07 CL Final Ref

sweeden score 3 in the first 25 min at parken in denmark, denmark score 3 goals and get back into the game, 90th minute and poulsen punches a sweed in the stomach in side denmarks box, ref gives a red card, and a penalty... then a danish supporter comes on and tries to punch the ref. then the ref calls the match of giving the sweeds a 0-3 victory....

crazy ****, fantastic football match spoiled by a couple of rotten apples...

    WTF...madness.

A ref can't make a call like that surely.

A draw would have been a fantastic result for NI. I'm gonna punch this ****ing ref.

That's a shocking decision surely... let the penalty stand and blow the whistle immediately afterwards.

i recon the ref feared for his own safety, and decided to call it off, i thought he would have the replay the penalty plus stoppages, but he decided it was enough. that danish supporter should get shot, and poulsen you stupid **** what were you thinking ...

He couldn't restart the game because they couldn't guarantee the safity for the players and the ref. It wasn't even a steward who treid to stop the supporter. Anyone who has seen the pictures can see that there isn't a steward or guard anywere close to the supporter or chasing him.

I'm not even surprised that Poulsen did that stupid thing on Rosenberg. One of the most stupid players out there in the top pro leagues.

I wouldn't start him in the games because he is a safety risk for his own team.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

i can see where he was coming from though. he was assaulted and feared for his safety. but imo he should have replayed the pen and stoppage time in a few days...

                      Copenhagen contest called off
                      Saturday 2 June 2007

An investigation is to be launched after referee Herbert Fandel abandoned the UEFA EURO 2008™ Group F game between Denmark and Sweden in Copenhagen tonight.

                      Reports awaited
With the score level at 3-3 in the closing stages and a penalty awarded to Sweden after Christian Poulsen's dismissal, a supporter ran on to the pitch and appeared to strike the official. The result of the Group F contest will be confirmed following an investigation by the UEFA disciplinary committee upon receipt of the referee and delegate reports. Two goals from Johan Elmander and another from Petter Hansson had put Sweden 3-0 up only for Daniel Agger, Jon Dahl Tomasson and Leon Andreasen to draw the home team level.

Any idiot can slip the net, there'd be no football matches if every ref took the same stance as this fud.

I'd like to see the game replayed at a neutral venue.

yup or simply evacuate the stadium and play in in couple of hours, there was only a stoppage time left anyway...
