Mancs paid over the odds for Nani

Looks a bit rich coming from a Chav rep but thought it would interest the doomsday people who were crying into their beer the other day when the Mancs anounced the signing.

Chelsea scout Piet de Visser insists Manchester United paid over-the-odds for Nani.

The Dutchman, a personal adviser to Blues owner Roman Abramovich and one of their main scouts, is known as one of the best judges of talent in Europe.

Talking to Dutch television, de Visser revealed that he and Chelsea were well aware of Nani - but he was not worth the money that United paid.

"Of course we knew about Nani for a long time," he told Tien TV.

"He is a talent, but if you look at the European Championshop in Portugal and the current tournament in the Netherlands - Nani has not shown any progress.

"Therefore I think Manchester United have paid too much money for a player who has talent, but has not developed since last year."

De Visser also revealed that he was looking at up to four players at the current European Under-21 tournament.

I've never seen anything in Nani to suggest he's that talented and the claims of him being similar in potential to Ronaldo at that age are way off.

Anderson is the supremely gifted one, Nani I dont rate much at all. Then again Ferguson knows a lot better than me.

I think the thing is that they identified a player they wanted and went for him regardless of what they had to pay. They did the same with Carrick last season.

On the other hand, we identify a player we want, decide he will cost too much and move on to option 2, 3, 4 etc until a player is available.

Rafa went and bought Crouch for what was thought to be too much money and he has been a good signing. I think it might just be better to get the players that are the number one target instead of looking elsewhere.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

No offence mate but does every thread on here have to go into how awful we are in the transfer market?

They are virtually no risk signings from Ferguson. Both Deals are only about £9million up front, the rest on performance related stuff.

If they dont cut the grade at United, you will always find a club wanting to take a failure of your hands (Forlan, Veron, Howard, kleberson, Djemba Djemba).

They would easily get £5million back because they are still young. The scum are ****ers for getting good money for their players. I still cant believe that Middlesbrough paid around £3 million for a then 32year old Gary Pallister

It's getting a bit boring now, i think the point of the article is that it's not always the best policy to spend over the odds. The myth that Carrick transformed the Mancs is crap as well, yeah he had a decent season for them but it was more down to Giggs/Scholes getting back to form of yesteryear and Ronaldo being head and shoulders better than any other attacking player in the prem, also Rooney played well.

Its not about how awful we are, its about a policy that the Mancs have adopted that I think more clubs will follow in future.

Sadly they seem to be the first at doing plenty of things which seem to pay off.

So could you not of left the topic about them rather than getting the dig in at us?

Everything isnt rosey at LFC by the look of it but reading about it in every thread in every forum is getting quite tedious.

They done what Chelski have done the last few years and that is pay over the odds so no other team can have him. Like they done with SWP, Parker, Bridge, Johnson
When you feel like you're done, you are not alone........

Even the Mancs wont be able to spend like Chelski, Glazers wealth is strictly small time compared to Ambramobitch's and he really will want to see a return for his money.

Not having a dig at what you're saying but i don't think you can compare Nani to either of those two. I would admit if you can find a top talent or a youngster that has already 'proved' himself to a certain extent then sometimes you have to outbid other clubs.

why cant you compare nani to ronaldo, 12 million for ronaldo was laughed at, especially when ourselves and arsenal supposedly had him secured for 4 million. if you have a true belief that any player will enhance your club then you have to go for it

Personally i don't think he's at the same level that Ronaldo and Drogba were at when they made the move. However i'm not actually disagreeing with you about spending big on a class player to make that bit of differance to your side, your just looking for a row you miserable ****
