Remember when we heard Stevie had signed for Chelsea but then did a
U Turn.
Not much hope of that happening here.
****!!!
I actually feel sorry for them..

Probably, but then maybe so would Bent, Huntlaar, Torres, Beni McCarthy, or Berbatov. We need a big player for the long term and I'd rather add youth.Originally posted by zinedine cheyrou View Posti would think he would get more than any of our current strikeforce.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Barca would need four very good defenders that's defending specialists if that will work.
They can't afford to have to attacking defenders because that would leave them very open at the back.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

fair enough, not sure myself on bent but would not mind seeing the others in red, i would also add tevez to that list...I do think Henry will get a hatful in La Liga all the sameOriginally posted by Operation View PostProbably, but then maybe so would Bent, Huntlaar, Torres, Beni McCarthy, or Berbatov. I remember him disappearing past Carra to score against us last season.
They timed it on TV, and he got from the byline to the point where he felt the back of our net on his face in approximately no seconds. He's older, maybe more injury prone, but he's hardly on the wane in a significant way yet.

Both players rely on pace and one is losing his. I'd say 16 million is anything but cheap for a player in decline, pushing 30and who'll think he's bigger than the club.

Henry has anything but a patchy injury record. He's one of th greatest players to grace the league and has a good 3 years + left.
Bent, like Phillips and Sutton, a medicore player with one or two good seasons behind him will fade away prematurely.
If you think Henry is the lesser option at £16M, than you know jack ****. Differences of opinions are justified with players of similar ability, but to claim that Bent is the better option is complete stupidity. Congratulations. I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

That's a bit harsh mate. For a start I haven't actually said I'd prefer Bent, just that we can do better than Henry if we're splashing the cash. I replied to the suggestion that the price similarity was ridiculous.Originally posted by FatTony View Post

Henry played 27 games last season. Granted, he scored 12 but I don't think he'd necessarily reproduce what he does for Arsenal as effectively for us, and I just think we should be getting a top draw young player for more than a couple of years. Just an opinion. It's not as if I called Charlie a n****r or something.Last edited by Kenneth; 23-06-07, 01:02 AM.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years
