Pato Wants To Play For Madrid, Claims Agent
Real Madrid believe that they are in front in the race to sign Internacional starlet Alexandre Pato after being told he only wants to play for them.
The Spanish giants are locked in a battle to capture the 17-year-old with AC Milan and have held talks with his agent in a bid to wrap up a deal.
Predrag Mijatovic, los Merengues' sporting director met Pato's representative, Gilmar Veloz, and was given some encouraging news.
"Stay calm, Pato only wants to play for Real Madrid," Veloz is reported as saying in Marca.
Milan supremo, Silvio Berlusconi, stated on Monday that the Brazilian wonderkid was a player that he wanted and after missing out on many potential targets this summer.
Both Madrid and Milan have put together stunning financial packages to sign Pato and the decision will come down to the player's personal choice.
The Italian giants had been linked to Ronaldinho, Samuel Eto'o, Didier Drogba and Andriy Shevchenko too, but has seen their interest rebuffed by Barça and Chelsea.
Now Pato is their main focus, but it appears that the player is keen to try his luck in the Spanish league.
With a buy-out clause of €25m, Milan and Madrid can both easily afford to match that and buy him out of his contract with Internacional.
